Mental Health is one of the most pressing issues globally. According to a report by the World Health Organization (WHO), Covid-19 alone accounted for a 25% increase in Depression and Anxiety issues across the globe in a single year (2020).

What is Mental Health?
Mental Health is a person’s condition in regard to their Emotional, Psychological, and Social wellbeing.
In simple words, it is
How we Think
How we feel about what we think
How we act to what we think and feel
How we cope with our thinking, feeling, and the way we react.
Why Mental Health is Important?
Consider a situation each one of us may have gone through at some stage of our life,
If we are sad but have an important assignment/work to complete, are we really able to focus on it? Are we able to complete it?
No, right? Because our mind keeps wandering as the negative thoughts take control over it.
That’s why Mental Health is important.
Until and Unless we are happy and the smile on our face looks real instead of a fake one that we pretend to be real, we won’t call our life a contented one and will always be burdened by it.
How did Covid-19 affect Mental Health?
Covid-19 has severely affected our mental well-being. Just the fear of Covid-19 played a big role on us, and the lockdown thereafter made it worst- people lost their loved ones, many lost their jobs and we being confined to the four walls of the house further drained us emotionally.
Why do people hesitate to share their problems?
The stigma around mental health still exists in society. The fear of being judged is what stops us from sharing our problems. This fear requires immediate attention.
Keeping issues to ourselves not only worsen them but also affect our mind, and body in a negative way.
For instance, if you get a fever, the first thing you do is consult a doctor and take the prescribed medicine. Then why can’t we do the same for our feelings and emotions? Why do we try to neglect them?
Just like a viral fever can’t be cured without medicine, similarly, your mental health issues can’t be cured without sharing them with a professional in the field.
There is a need to realize that Mental Health is as Important as Physical Health.
The world is advancing. From technology to Sports, transformation is visible everywhere but what still requires attention is our perception of Mental Health.
There is a need to realize that IT IS OK TO TALK
There is a need to realize that YOUR FEELINGS MATTER
There is a need to realize that YOU ARE NOT ALONE
There is a need to realize that YOU MATTER
There is a need to realize that YOU ARE LOVED
